Slight fall in Dundalk house prices in December
The average price of a house in Dundalk fell back slightly in December compared to the previous month.
The latest Residential Property Price Index from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows that the mean house price in the town now stands at €212,210
This was down 0.6% on the figure of €213,635 recorded in the year to November but was €25,484 up on the same period 12 months earlier when the median house price stood at €186,726. This represents a year on year increase of 14.4%.
Despite the slight decline in Dundalk, prices in Louth jumped 1.1% in the year to December from €214,750 to €217,065.
This was helped by the increase in price in Drogheda, which rose 1.8% in December from €242,043 to €246,314.
The median asking price in Dundalk also fell back by €1,415 to €210,000. Meanwhile in Drogheda it was up €5,000 to €245,000. In Louth it jumped €1,834 in December to €211,000.
