Soprano with Dundalk connections to perform at An Táin Arts Centre this Saturday
Award-winning Soprano Eve Garavan will be performing at An Táin Arts Centre this Saturday night.
Originally from Mayo, but with a Dundalk based family, Eve is an experienced singer who has performed in many concerts and recitals around Ireland both in a solo capacity and as a member of leading Irish chamber choirs incuding Anúna, Collegium and New Dublin Voices.
She’s a winner of Feis Ceoil’s Mná, a competition for Irish-language unaccompanied singing for women.
Eve has a great interest in Irish traditional music and for this concert, she seeks to explore the worlds of both classical and traditional music with the aim of creating her own unique sound, accompanied by Panpan Lin on piano and Niamh O’Brien on harp.
Eve is very much looking forward to the concert and says: “I am delighted to be singing in Dundalk as the family connections I have here are very important to me. My mother grew up in Shelagh, which is just outside the town. My granny and several relations live there now. I also have family living both in Dundalk town and in the surrounding areas. Singing in a place with so many relations and friends is an honour for me.”
The concert gets underway on the night at 8pm. Tickets are €15 and €12 concession and are available from our box office on Crowe Street, over the phone on 042 9332332 or online at www.antain.ie
