Sunshine and showers this weekend but better weather ahead
This weekend will be a bit of a mixed bag with sunshine and showers but the good news is that better weather could lie in store next week.
That’s the verdict of Louth Weather in their latest forecast for the week ahead.
Louth Weather’s forecast read: “BACKGROUND: A weak ridge of high pressure extends northwards over Ireland today, giving us a reasonable day ahead. In a repeat of last week, a slow-moving (and unseasonably deep) area of low pressure (979 hPa) influences our weather for Friday and the weekend. However last Saturday the low passed right over us, this incoming one will stay approximately 400km north of us, so while it will become more unsettled over the coming days, it shouldn’t be as wet as last weekend was. Turning cooler.
“THURSDAY: A decent enough day. Most areas staying totally dry, with just the odd shower about. Some pleasant sunshine in the first half of the day, but turning increasingly cloudy this afternoon. Moderate SW winds. Max 19°C.
“FRIDAY: Rain will arrive shortly after midnight. It will continue overnight but I’m hoping it will ease off and clear away by mid morning. The afternoon will see a mix of sunny spells and showers. Friday evening should be dry with some pleasant sunshine. Moderate to fresh SW winds. Max 20°C.
“SATURDAY: A mix of sunny spells and showers, the showers most frequent during the afternoon. Windy with a fresh SW wind. Feeling cooler at 17°C.
“SUNDAY: A mix of sunshine and showers.
“MONDAY: Similar to Sunday.
“FURTHER OUTLOOK: The good news. While it’s early days yet, I think we will see a marked improvement in conditions from the middle of next week on.”
