Teen charged with theft from local filling station
A young teenager was arrested and charged in connection with the theft of a small sum of money at the Mace store at the Maxol Filling Station on the Castletown Road last weekend.
The youth entered the shop brandishing a large red knife. He subsequently threatened staff, who handed over money before the culprit made off in the direction of Castle Ross.
The 15-year-old was later apprehended by Gardaí and charged with the theft as well as a break-in to a nearby house.
He is due to appear before the courts again in the coming weeks.
