The Dystopian Disco comes to The Spirit Store this Saturday
A new one-off summer gig will take place in The Spirit Store this Saturday night.
Hosted by local record store owner Neil Waters, ‘The Dystopian Disco’ is a DJ event playing post-punk.
Worship the dark, worship the light; as DJs avoid the time-honoured and embrace atypical rhythms, riffs and beats. Drawing heavily upon vinyl cut with minor keys and oft overlooked modes featuring; Velvet Underground, Nick Cave, Warpaint, Joy Division, MBV, Kurt Vile, The Cure, The Xx, Television, Can, Elliott Smith, Neu!, Depeche Mode, Talking Heads, Brian Eno, The Smiths, PJ Harvey, Bowie…
So, dance about drunkenly or sit with think deep thoughts but let go and allow the soundtrack to take you into the portals of the 11th dimension. You may obtain further information by attending this show.
DJ line up includes: Conal McIntyre (We, The Oceanographers), David Noonan (Just Mustard), Charles Hendy (TPM) & Neil Waters (Evil Presidentes).
The Dystopian Disco takes place downstairs from 9pm on Saturday with admission free of charge.
