Thousands turn out for Darkness Into Light in Dundalk
Thousands turned out at Dundalk IT in the early hours of this morning for the third annual local Darkness Into Light event.
The fundraiser in aid of Pieta House got underway from Dundalk IT at 4.15am and saw people come together at the same time as other events around the country to walk 5km to remember those affected by suicide and to support others considering it.
The weather was good for the fundraiser with participants in great spirit throughout.

Event director Sean Kelly described it as a hugely successful event and thanked the community for their support.
He said the fact 10,000 people were walking in the North East shows how much people care about mental health and added it highlights the need for a Pieta House centre in the North East.
