Watch the Redemptorist Carol Service on Talk of the Town this Sunday
St Joseph’s Redemptorist Choir will be hosting their annual Redemptorist Carol Service this Sunday evening at the church on the St Alphonsus Road.
Just as we did 12 months ago, Talk of the Town will be streaming the event live on our Facebook page for those unable to attend. Last year’s live stream proved a huge hit, particularly with ex-pats.
Once again this year there will be a number of superb traditional carols sung, followed by a reading of ‘The Night Before Christmas’.
Trevor Clarke of the Redemptorist Choir said they were hopeful of building on the huge success of last year’s broadcast.
“Last year was really a tester to see what kind of reaction we would get to it. We were probably hoping we’d get a few hundred but in the end around 11,000 people tuned in so we were delighted with that and that Talk of the Town have come on board again this year,” he said.
“It brings it to people from Dundalk who maybe aren’t living in town anymore but this church and the Redemptorist Community holds a special place for many people in the town and it always has. For people who have moved away, it gives them a chance to tune in and experience the magic of the carol service no matter where they are living. Last year we had people tuning in from all around Europe but also as far afield as North America, South America, Brazil and that’s really exciting.”
The carol service gets underway at 7pm and is free to attend. Talk of the Town’s coverage gets underway on our Facebook page from 6.50pm.
