Watters praises good samaritan for coastline clean-up

A local councillor has praised the efforts of a Good Samaritan who collected rubbish along the North Louth coast at the weekend.

Cllr Antóin Watters praised the efforts of the unnamed individual after dozens of bags of rubbish were collected along the shore between Rathcor and Gyles Quay.

Commenting on the matter via social media, the Sinn Féin member said: “Plastic is a huge problem in our seas and needs to be addressed.

“This is rubbish that was collected along the shore between Rathcor and Gyles Quay by one man. I think you will all agree it was a huge undertaking. A massive thank you for your hard work and effort.”
