Work on new Dundalk Dog Rescue Centre set to commence this autumn

Work on Dundalk Dog Rescue’s new centre in Dromiskin is expected to commence this autumn.

The charity put the work out to tender last week and hope to have a builder on site so soon as possible in the hope of being up and running by spring 2020.

The new centre at Whiterath was given the go ahead in January 2018.

Once complete it will comprise of treatment facilities, a reception with public waiting/viewing areas, staff and administration areas, sanitary facilities and ancillary accommodation.

The development will also include provision of a new single storey dog kennel facility to the side and rear of the existing building to accommodate 45 dogs.

In order to help pay for the facility, Dundalk Dog Rescue will hold a bucket collection this Friday in Dundalk. A Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser is also planned for October 12th. Anyone who wishes to take part is asked to contact Jerome or Bobby in McAteer’s The Food House on 042 9326420.
